External Weld Inspection: Automated Visual Inspection (AVI) 

For external inspection traditional methods that rely on the human eye, can be slow and prone to error whereas advanced automated visual inspection (AVI) systems provide an unparalleled level of precision and consistency. 

The Inspekto S70 provides a new standard in external weld inspection. It is a fully autonomous, “plug-and-play” system, and learns to identify a “good” weld in a matter of minutes by simply observing a small number of flawless parts. It can inspect every weld on every part at high speed, providing defect detection for a vast array of surface defects, including porosity, undercut, cracks, and incomplete fusion, automatically flagging any deviation from the learned “golden” part. For external welds, it provides a critical, early-stage quality check, long before the tube is assembled into a larger system. 

Internal Weld Inspection: Borescope Inspection 

The most critical defects often can be in the weld seam and hidden from external view. To check internal orbital welds the Hawkeye borescope and videoscope range is ideal. These allow weld inspectors to see inside tubes and hollow components to verify the integrity of the internal weld bead. There are a range of rigid, flexible, articulating, and dual view options that can work around the tightest bends and longest tubes to provide clear, high-resolution views of internal orbital welds. These can reveal hidden flaws such as suck-back, lack of penetration, or internal porosity. The videoscopes capture high-quality digital images and videos, providing a vital visual record for quality assurance documentation and compliance with stringent  standards.

The S70 can be used on many materials/components including Electrical Components, Metal, PCB’s, plastic, and rubber. This capability makes it an ideal solution for products such as injection moulded components where it can identify sink marks, pores, dents and flashing, electrical connectors-presence/missing/position, soldering on pcb’s, integrity & milling swarf in metal components, position and presence of labels, verification of coatings and O ring placement or missing.
