Cutting tools have a life and need to be replaced.  However, they are expensive so being able to assess and measure the degree of wear means that their life can be maximised whilst replacement before they deteriorate prevents delivery of unsatisfactory product.  And analysis of wear patterns can drive developments such as localised hardening or modifications to the manufacturing processes to reduce erosion or thermal degradation.  Our instruments enable detailed inspection of the smallest tools whilst measurement data over their service life will indicate rates of wear.
