Horizontal bench top shadowgraph with significantly larger measuring capacity

The Starrett HB400 is a horizontal bench top shadowgraph built to the same high quality mechanical standards as expected by the Starrett brand.

It has one of the largest measuring capacities of all Starrett optical comparators, with a 400mm diameter screen, 395mm fast traverse X-axis travel, 150mm Y-travel controlled by linear encoders, 0.5µm resolution and fine adjustment on all axes. The precision 540mm x 130mm workstage has a top plate with machined slot for easy fixturing  of vices and centres and a weight capacity of 50kg.

The notably greater measuring travel in both the X and Y axis make the HB400 a very sought-after bench top shadowgraph for industrial metrology requirements. 

This robust shadowgraph has the option of both motorised and CNC work stages, optical and/or video edge detection and a bayonet style lens mount system for up to six interchangeable lenses. The HB400 is perfect for inspecting small and large components within automotive, aerospace, medical device, and other precision engineering applications. Its Q-axis angular readout and LED profile and surface illumination provides an exceptional wide range of dimensional inspection applications and complex measuring requirements.
